Compelling Techonologies

The mission of the WFCA is to respond to the challenges of a changing industry, to ensure greater protection of life and property from fire, natural and man-made disasters, or other sudden emergencies, by providing leadership, direction, and education to its members and affiliate organizations.

The State of Alaska Department of Public Safety is the state agency charged with providing functions relative to the protection of life, property, and wildlife resources. Approximately 19% of our population is Alaska Native and American Indians and yet they represent 35% of the deaths. Fire is the number one cause of death and injury for Alaska Native and American Indian children and this group has the second highest rates of death and injury from fires of any socio-economic group in the country. Reducing the impact of fires on Alaska Natives and American Indians is not an academic exercise. It goes to the heart of our mission.

The Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. (CPSE), a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation, promotes continuous quality improvement by providing training and career resource information for the fire and emergency service agencies and personnel that serve communities throughout the United States.
